Pilsen is the only large city in the Czech Republic which annually remembers the events at the end of the WWII and the liberation of the city by the American Army in May, 1945. The festival lasts for several days and it includes rich cultural programme and many military-historical events.

Saturday program is dedicated to the story of Pilsen - largest Czech city liberated by the US Army during World War II. During the "Liberation of Pilsen" tour you will see the places, military camps and memorial sites connected with the US liberation and visit the most interesting highlights of the celebrations program. You will also see the Convoy of Liberty - an impressive convoy of historical military vehicles – which will ride through the city again this year. The program also includes a three-course lunch in one of the renowned restaurants in the city center and a visit and to the Patton Memorial Pilsen with exhibition mapping the progression and residence of the United States Army in the former Czechoslovakia in 1945.
Program on Sunday 6th May 2018
On Sunday, you will tour the city and learn about the history of Pilsen and discover the main sights and attractions such as the historical City Hall, the Pilsen Historical Underground and the Pilsner Urquell brewery. During the brewery tour, you will learn all about the history and present of brewing Pilsner Urquell beer and taste the unfiltered Pilsner Urquell tapped directly from oak lager barrels in the historical lager cellars. The program includes a three-course lunch in the Na Spilce restaurant – one of the largest restaurants in the Czech Republic located in the former brewery fermentation cellars.
